Not All Photography Classes Are the Same—Here’s Why Ours Are Different

Not All Photography Classes Are the Same—Here’s Why Ours Are Different

If you’ve been searching for photography classes in Connecticut or New England, you’ve probably noticed there are a lot of options out there.

Some are online. Some are quick workshops. Others are taught by photographers who are just getting started themselves.

And while there’s nothing wrong with learning in different ways, there is a difference in what you walk away with.

Photography isn’t just about knowing what buttons to press. It’s about understanding why you’re using them. It’s about seeing light, anticipating moments, and adjusting in real time—whether you’re photographing a child who won’t sit still, an athlete in motion, or a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

That kind of understanding doesn’t come from theory alone. It comes from experience.

Why We’re Starting Photography Classes

After more than 35 years behind the camera, I’ve seen the same thing happen again and again.

People fall in love with photography… and then get stuck.

They invest in a camera. They’re excited. Inspired. Ready to create.

And then they hit a wall.

Aperture. Shutter speed. ISO. Manual mode. Lighting. Lenses.

It becomes overwhelming fast.

Without a strong foundation, it’s hard to move forward with confidence. That’s exactly why we created these photography classes in Connecticut—to make learning clear, approachable, and practical.

Learn Photography from a Master Photographer

These classes are not built on trends or quick online tutorials. They are built on a career.

As a Certified Professional Photographer, Master Photographer, and Craftsman, I’ve spent decades creating images and helping other photographers grow.

I’ve worked with families, schools, athletes, and businesses throughout my career. I’ve also taught, mentored, and spoken at industry events, helping photographers at every stage develop real skills.

This isn’t about shortcuts.

It’s about giving you a strong foundation so you can grow with confidence—whether you’re learning photography as a hobby or exploring it as a career.

Start with Our Beginner Photography Class

Every photographer starts in the same place—learning how their camera works.

Our beginner photography class is designed to give you that foundation in a way that actually makes sense.

This is a hands-on, 6-hour class where we break everything down step by step.

You’ll learn:

  • How aperture affects your image
  • How shutter speed controls motion
  • How ISO impacts light and quality
  • How focal length changes perspective
  • How to use composition to create stronger images

This isn’t about memorizing settings. It’s about understanding how everything works together so you can start creating intentionally.

A Photography Workshop That Goes Beyond One Day

This isn’t just a one-time class—it’s a full learning experience.

You’ll receive a printed course manual to take home, along with access to a private Facebook group where you can continue learning, ask questions, and share your work.

We’ve also built in a break during the day (with pizza and drinks), because learning should feel energizing—not overwhelming.

Next Class: June 27
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Investment: $297

Continue Your Photography Journey

For some, this class will be exactly what they need. For others, it’s just the beginning.

Once you’ve built a strong foundation, you can continue learning through our advanced photography classes offered during the winter months.

These include:

  • On-camera flash for natural, flattering light
  • Lightroom and Photoshop editing for a clean workflow
  • Off-camera flash for dramatic, professional images
  • Marketing and pricing for photographers ready to grow a business

Each class builds on the last, giving you a clear path forward.

Learn Photography at the Right Pace

One of the biggest challenges photographers face is trying to learn too much, too quickly.

That’s why our approach is different.

We focus on making photography digestible, practical, and grounded in real experience.

You don’t need to rush. You just need the right foundation—and the right guidance.
