5 Ways to Prepare Your Pet for Their Portrait Session

5 Ways to Prepare Your Pet for Their Portrait Session

Getting your pet ready for their big moment doesn’t have to be stressful! A little preparation goes a long way in creating adorable, personality-filled portraits

Here are 5 easy ways to get your pet photo-ready:

1. Plan Grooming Ahead of Time
Schedule grooming a few days before your session so your pet looks clean and natural (not freshly stressed from the groomer).

2. Bring Their Favorite Treats
Treats help keep your pet engaged and happy during the session—think of it as their “payment” for being a model

3. Pack a Favorite Toy or Prop
A toy they love can grab their attention and bring out their personality in photos.

4. Let Them Burn Some Energy (But Not Too Much!)
A short walk is perfect—but don’t overdo it. We want them happy and alert, not exhausted.

5. Stay Calm & Positive
Pets pick up on your energy. If you’re relaxed and upbeat, they’ll feel it too—and that makes for the best photos!

Bonus: Want to jump in for a photo with your pet? You absolutely can—we love capturing that bond!
