Kids Club: Dr. Seuss

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday this Friday, our Kids Club set is a Dr. Seuss theme! There are two sets available, both inspired by some of Dr. Seuss’ best know works.  The first is Lorax inspired, with lots of bright fun colors. The other is inspired by Cat in the Hat and has fun cut outs of the characters in the book. These one of a kind sets will only be available March 1st! Click Here to Schedule your Appointment Online

Dr. Seuss may be a household name, but here are interesting facts you might not know about him:

  • He was not a doctor. He added the title “doctor” before Seuss (his mother’s maiden name) while in college to lend credibility to his writings and characters, and in reaction to his father’s wish that his son would get a doctorate.
  • He won several major awards, including: two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, the Pulitzer Price, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award and a Peabody Award.
  • Dr. Seuss once said that the character the Grinch is based on himself!
  • The book Green Eggs and Ham only contains 50 different words.  He wrote the book based on a bet.  A publisher bet him that he couldn’t write a book using few words.  Dr. Seuss won the bet!
  • Dr. Seuss was an author, poet, screenwriter, illustrator, film producer, television producer, songwriter, animator and visual artist.
  • Dr. Seuss real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel.
  • He was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield Massachusetts
